펀딩 사이트에서 관심을 끌었던 제품이 있었다. 'Schubelt'라고 불리는 가방이었는데 이 가방의 재미있는
점은 바로 자석과 와이어 기능을 활용해 너저분한 가방끈이 자동으로 정리가 되고 기본적으로는 뒤로 매는
백팩이지만 옆으로 메는 숄더백으로도 쓸 수 있다는 부분이다.
AKB48 곡을 만든 음악가, 변리사, 학원장이며 발명가로 활동하고 있는 'Ogawa Kota(小川コータ)' 씨가
만든 가방으로 가방 내부 공간을 확장해서 사용 가능한 대형 크기와 숄더백으로도 운용이 가능한 소형 크기
두 가지가 있는데 나는 이중에서 소형 크기 제품을 선택한 것. 자석 쓰였다는 것도 눈이 돌아가게 만든 요소
중에 하나이기도 하다.
2. 왜 샀어?
가장 큰 이유를 말하자면 기존에 사용하고 있던 KORIN FlipPack 가방이 작살난 것. 어쩔 수 없이 지난해
2024 G-Star 붉은 사막 행사에 참여해서 받은 가방을 쓰고 있었는데 상당히 불편했다. KORIN 가방으로
다시 살까 고민을 했지만 가방끈 정리가 된다는 데에서 Schubelt 제품이 자꾸만 눈길을 끌어 택하게 됐다.
안 사면 후회할 거 같더라고.
사람으로 가득찬 만원 버스나 지하철을 이용할 때 나는 뒤로 메고 있는 가방을 벗고 든 채로 통행자가 쉽게
지나갈 수 있게 나름대로의 배려를 하는 편인데 솔직히 말해서 가방에 들고 있는 짐이 많은 나로서는 팔에
무리가 가기 때문에 그다지 선호하지는 않는다. 손을 바꿔가며 가방을 들고, 한손으로 어렵게 스마트폰을
조작하다보면 숄더백을 메고 있는 사람들이 엄청 부러웠거든. 그게 바로 소형 크기 제품을 택한 이유다.
대형 크기 제품은 내부 크기 확장 가능하다는 차별점이 있지만 숄더백으로 변경할 수 없었다. 만약에 대형
크기 제품도 숄더백 형태로 변경이 가능했다면 주저없이 대형 제품을 샀겠지.
2. Why did I buy it?
The biggest reason was that my previous bag, the KORIN FlipPack, got completely wrecked. I had no choice but to use the bag I received at the 2024 G-Star Crimson Desert event, but it was quite uncomfortable. I considered buying another KORIN bag, but I kept getting drawn to the Schubelt product because of its strap management feature, so I went with that one. I felt like I’d regret it if I didn’t buy it.
When I ride packed buses or subways, I usually take off my backpack and hold it in front of me so others can pass more easily — it’s my way of being considerate. But honestly, since I carry a lot of stuff in my bag, it puts a strain on my arms, so I’m not a big fan of doing that. While constantly switching hands and awkwardly using my smartphone with one hand, I found myself envying people with shoulder bags. That’s exactly why I chose a small-sized model.
The larger version had the advantage of expandable storage, but it couldn't be worn as a shoulder bag. If the large-sized product could have also been used as a shoulder bag, I would’ve bought that one without hesitation.
- なぜ買ったのか？
一番大きな理由は、今まで使っていたKORIN FlipPackのバッグが壊れてしまったこと。仕方なく去年の2024年G-STAR「黒い砂漠」イベントで配られたバッグを使っていたけど、かなり使いにくかった。KORINのバッグをもう一度買おうかとも考えたけれど、ストラップの整理ができるという点でSchubeltの製品が気になって仕方がなく、最終的に選んだ。買わなかったら後悔しそうだったから。
人でぎゅうぎゅうの満員バスや地下鉄を利用する時、僕は背負っているバッグを手に持って、通行人が通りやすいようにするタイプなんだけど、正直言って荷物が多い僕にとっては腕に負担がかかるので、あまり好ましくはない。手を交互に変えながらバッグを持って、片手で無理してスマホを操作していると、ショルダーバッグを持っている人たちが本当に羨ましくなった。それが小型サイズを選んだ理由だ。
大型サイズの製品には内部の容量を拡張できるという特徴があるけど、ショルダーバッグとして使えなかった。もし大型サイズでもショルダーバッグに変形できたら、迷わずそっちを買っていただろうね。
3. 외형
굉장히 얇고 그만큼 깔끔한 인상을 준다. 덜렁거리는 가방끈이 없다는 것만으로 이렇게 달라 보일 수 있네.
바닥에 질질 끌리는 끈이 없는 것이 상당히 마음에 들었다. 가방을 벗을 때마다 와이어가 당겨지는 소리와
자석으로 찰싹 달라붙을 때에는 묘한 쾌감마저 들 정도다.
정확한 명칭은 알 수 없지만, 가방 정면의 좌측 하단에 위치한 버튼과 가방 정면 기준 하단부에 위치해있는
버튼은 플라스틱으로 구성되었고 원상복구가 잘 안 되어서 오히려 일체감을 해치는 것이 살짝 아쉽기는 해.
어차피 그다지 신경은 쓰지 않는 부분이지만, 탄성적으로 돌아오는 구조였고 다른 재료를 썼다면 어땠을까.
워낙에 군더더기가 없는 외형이라 더 말할 부분은 없긴 하다. 그 깔끔함에 이끌린 것이니. 이것이 알파이자
오메가라고 해도 무방하겠지.
3. Appearance
It's incredibly thin and gives off a very clean impression. Just the absence of dangling bag straps makes it look so different.
I really liked that there were no straps dragging on the ground. Every time I take off the bag, the sound of the wire being pulled and the way it snaps into place with the magnet give me a strange sense of satisfaction.
I’m not sure of the exact names, but the button located on the lower left of the front and the one on the bottom center (from the front view) are made of plastic, and it’s a bit disappointing that they don’t return to their original position well, slightly breaking the sense of cohesion. It’s not a part I particularly care about, but I wonder how it would’ve felt if it had a spring-back structure and used different materials.
The design is so minimalistic that there’s not much else to say. That simplicity is what drew me to it. You could say it's both the alpha and the omega.
3. 外観
非常に薄く、その分すっきりとした印象を与える。ぶらぶらするストラップがないだけで、こんなにも違って見えるとは。
地面に引きずるようなストラップがないのがとても気に入った。バッグを外すたびにワイヤーが引かれる音と、磁石でピタッとくっつくときの感覚は、妙な快感すらある。
正確な名称は分からないけれど、バッグの前面左下にあるボタンと、前面基準で下部にあるボタンはプラスチック製で、元の形に戻りにくく、逆に一体感を損なっているのが少し残念だ。
とはいえ、そこまで気にする部分でもないけれど、もし弾力性のある構造で、別の素材を使っていたらどうだっただろう。
余計な要素がない外見なので、それ以上語ることはない。そのシンプルさに惹かれたのだから。これこそが始まりであり終わりとも言えるだろう。
4. 내부 공간
(1) Laptop Section
크게 2가지 공간으로 나뉜다. 첫번째는 사용자의 등에 가까운 곳으로 얇은 Laptop 또는 Tablet PC를
수납할 수 있는 곳. 전문 용어로는 Laptop Compartment라고 한다. 다만 Gaming Gear 같이 무겁고
두꺼운 제품을 보관하기에는 적절하지 않은듯하다. 아마도 LG 사의 Gram 및 Apple Macbook 제품
정도라면 괜찮을지도. 그 앞에는 Laptop Sleeve라고 불리는 얇은 수납 공간이 있다.
반대편에는 Mesh 구조의 주머니가 2개, 평범한 주머니가 2개 있는데 솔직히 너무 협소한 공간이므로
부피를 차지하는 물건을 넣기에는 무리가 따른다. 외부에서 손쉽게 접근할 수 있도록 작은 주머니 하나
있는 것을 볼 수 있다만 무엇을 보관하면 좋을지 아직도 의문이다. 만약 안경을 넣으면 박살나겠지.
나는 이 공간에 다음과 같은 제품을 수납한다.

(1) Laptop Section
The space is largely divided into two compartments. The first is the area closest to the user’s back, which is designed to store a thin laptop or tablet PC. In technical terms, this is called the "Laptop Compartment." However, it doesn’t seem suitable for storing heavy or bulky devices like gaming gear. It might be fine for something like LG’s Gram series or an Apple MacBook.
In front of that is a thinner storage area referred to as the "Laptop Sleeve."
On the opposite side, there are two mesh pockets and two regular ones. To be honest, the space is quite limited, so it’s not really practical for storing bulky items. There’s also a small exterior-access pocket that can be easily reached from the outside, but I still haven’t figured out what would be ideal to store in it. If you put glasses in there, they’d probably get crushed.

(1) ノートPC収納部
大きく2つのスペースに分かれている。ひとつ目は、使用者の背中に近い位置にあり、薄型のノートPCやタブレットPCを収納できるスペース。専門用語では「Laptop Compartment（ノートPC収納部）」と呼ばれる。ただし、ゲーミングギアのように重くて厚みのある機器を入れるには適していないようだ。おそらく、LGのGramシリーズやAppleのMacBookシリーズ程度であれば問題ないと思われる。その前には「Laptop Sleeve（ラップトップスリーブ）」と呼ばれる薄型の収納スペースがある。
反対側にはメッシュ構造のポケットが2つ、普通のポケットが2つあるが、正直言ってスペースがかなり狭いため、かさばる物を入れるのには不向きだ。外側から簡単にアクセスできる小さなポケットもあるが、正直なところ何を入れるべきか今でもよく分からない。もし眼鏡を入れたら、たぶん壊れるだろう。
私はこのスペースに以下のようなアイテムを収納している：

(2) Main Compartment
두번째로는 조금은 부피가 있는 물건을 수납할 수 있는 공간. 마찬가지로 상당히 깊은 주머니가 2개가 있고
반대편에는 가방끈 자동 조절을 위한 장치가 있는 공간과 드디어 부피 좀 있는 물건을 넣을 수 있는 빈 공간.
마지막으로 접이식 우산을 넣을 수 있는 작은 주머니가 보인다.
보시다시피 결국 활용할 수 있는 공간인 굉장히 적은 셈이다. 다행히 내부에 작은 파우치 하나가 딱
알맞게 들어간다. 때마침 쓰고 있는 3단 접이식 우산이 안성맞춤으로 들어가지. 다만 안경 보관함이
들어갈 공간이 안 남는다. 이건 억지로 파우치와 우산 사이로 우겨넣어서 챙기고 있다. 자동 끈 조절
장치 (이하 Automatic Strap Adjuster) 때문에 못쓰는 공간이 있는 점이 다소 아쉽다.
나는 이 공간에 다음과 같은 제품을 수납한다.

(2) Main Compartment
The second area is for storing slightly bulkier items. There are also two fairly deep pockets, and on the opposite side is the space that houses the mechanism for automatic strap adjustment, along with a finally usable open area for storing larger items. Lastly, there's a small pocket that can hold a compact folding umbrella.
As you can see, the usable space is actually quite limited. Fortunately, a small pouch fits perfectly inside. Coincidentally, my current 3-fold folding umbrella fits snugly in its designated spot. However, there’s no room left for an eyeglass case. I end up forcibly squeezing it between the pouch and the umbrella. It's a bit disappointing that the space taken up by the Automatic Strap Adjuster limits usability.

2つ目は、ややかさばる物を収納できるスペース。ここにもかなり深めのポケットが2つあり、反対側にはバッグストラップの自動調整装置が入っているスペース、そしてようやく少し大きめの物を入れられる空きスペースがある。最後に、折りたたみ傘を収納できる小さなポケットも見える。
ご覧の通り、最終的に実用的に使えるスペースは非常に少ないと言える。幸いにも、内部に小型ポーチがちょうどよく収まる。たまたま使っている三つ折りの折りたたみ傘もぴったり入る。ただし、メガネケースを収納するスペースは残っていない。そのため、ポーチと傘の隙間に無理やり押し込んで持ち歩いている。自動ストラップ調整装置（以下「Automatic Strap Adjuster」）のせいで使えないスペースがあるのは少し残念だ。
私はこのスペースに以下のアイテムを収納している：

지난번 구매한 KORIN 가방은 망할 놈의 Digital Pocket이 Main Compartment 공간을 침해하는 탓에
공책조차 온전히 넣을 수 없는 최악의 단점이 있었는데 Schubelt는 Automatic Strap Adjuster 장치가
차지하고 있는 공간 때문에 가뜩이나 부족한 수납 공간이 20% 이상 줄어든다는 치명적인 단점이 있다.
정확히 회사 출근할 때 챙기는 도시락통 2개가 들어갈만한 공간이 없어서 해결책을 찾을 때까지 도시락을
못먹고 계속 사먹어야 했다. 아까운 식비 지출을 생각하면 아직도 치가 떨린다. 그리고 방금 언급했다시피
Automatic Strap Adjuster 기기는 가방 내부에서 작업하므로 외부의 이물질이 간단히 가방으로 침투할
수 있다. 예컨대 비라도 세차게 쏟아지면 내부까지 젖을 가능성이 매우 높다는 말이다. 따라서 방수 대책이
필요할 것이다.
마지막으로 불안한 점이라면 가방이 고장났을 때 처치가 곤란할 것 같다. Amazon Store Japan 통해서
구매를 진행했는데 만약에 Automatc Strap Adjuster 기기가 고장이 난다면 어떻게 할까. 국내 정발한
제품이라면 어떻게든 수리를 진행할 수 있으련만.
아무튼 수납 공간에 여유가 많지 않기 때문에 평상시 상당한 양의 짐을 가지고 다니는 나같은 사람에게는
추천을 하기가 어렵다.
The last bag I bought from KORIN had a terrible flaw — the so-called Digital Pocket intruded into the main compartment, making it impossible to even properly fit a notebook. In comparison, the Schubelt bag has a critical flaw of its own: the Automatic Strap Adjuster takes up already limited space, reducing the usable storage capacity by over 20%.
There wasn’t even enough room for the two lunch boxes I usually bring to work, so I had to keep buying meals until I found a workaround. Just thinking about that wasted food expense still makes me grind my teeth. As mentioned earlier, the Automatic Strap Adjuster is located inside the bag, which means foreign substances can easily enter the interior. For example, if there’s heavy rain, the inside could get soaked. That’s why proper waterproofing measures are essential.
Lastly, there’s the concern about what to do if the bag breaks. I bought it through Amazon Store Japan, and I have no idea what I’d do if the Automatic Strap Adjuster malfunctioned. If it were a product officially released in Korea, at least I could try to get it repaired somehow.
In any case, because there isn’t much available storage, I can’t recommend this bag to people like me who carry around a substantial amount of stuff on a daily basis.
前回購入したKORINのバッグには、「Digital Pocket」というクソ仕様がMain Compartmentのスペースを圧迫してしまい、ノートすらまともに入らないという最悪の欠点があった。一方でSchubeltは、Automatic Strap Adjuster（自動ストラップ調整装置）が占めているスペースのせいで、もともと少ない収納スペースがさらに20％以上削られてしまうという致命的な弱点がある。
実際、出勤時に持参する弁当箱2個すら入るスペースがなくて、解決策을 찾을 때까지弁当を持っていけず、ずっと外食するはめになった。無駄な食費の出費を思い出すと今でも悔しい気持ちになる。そしてさっきも言ったように、Automatic Strap Adjusterはバッグ内部に設置されているため、外部の異物がバッグの中に簡単に入り込む構造になっている。たとえば、激しい雨が降れば内部まで濡れてしまう可能性が非常に高いということだ。したがって、防水対策は必須だろう。
最後に気になる点としては、バッグが故障したときに対応が難しそうなことだ。私はAmazon Japanで購入したが、もしAutomatic Strap Adjusterが壊れたらどうすればいいのか。国内正規販売品であれば、どうにかして修理対応ができただろうけど。
いずれにせよ、収納スペースに余裕がないため、日常的に多くの荷物を持ち歩く自分のような人にはあまりおすすめできない。
6. 그럼에도 장점
수납 공간이 부족하면 수납 공간을 추가하면 된다. 냅다 Cargo Container 사의 Side Storage Back
제품을 구매했다. 그리고 마그네틱 카라비너 제품을 구매해서 Schbelt 하단에 결합했다. 이 과정에서
7만원 정도의 지출이 발생하기는 했고 아마 Schbelt 개발자인 Ogawa Kota 씨께서 이 광경을 본다면
격노할지도 모르지만 이렇게 해서라도 Schubelt를 사용하고 싶은 나의 마음을 부디 알아주길 바란다.
마음을 차분하게 하는 Grey 색상과 어울리게 색깔까지 맞췄다고. 참고로 Schubelt 좌측의 Shoulder
Pad 부분에는 프라포케(プラポケ) Pouch 제품을 결합해서 나만의 방식으로 수납 공간을 늘리고 있다.
이렇게까지 하는 이유는 Shoulder Back 전환 및 자동으로 가방끈을 정리할 수가 있는 Schubelt만의
독창적인 기술을 높게 사기 때문이다. 비록 조금 거추장스러워지기는 했지만 떼어내면 그만이니까.
포기하기 불가한 장점을 가지고 있다는 것과 유일무이한 특성을 보유하고 있다는 것. 그것이 이 가방을
선택한 이유이다.
6. Nonetheless, the Advantages
If there’s not enough storage space, you can always add more. So, I went ahead and bought the Side Storage Back from Cargo Container. I also purchased a magnetic carabiner and attached it to the bottom of the Schubelt. This whole process cost me around 70,000 KRW, and I imagine that Mr. Kota Ogawa, the developer of Schubelt, might be furious if he saw what I did — but I hope he understands how much I still want to use this bag.
I even matched the color to the calming grey tone of the bag. For reference, I attached a Purapoke (プラポケ) pouch to the left shoulder pad of the Schubelt to increase the storage capacity in my own way.
The reason I’ve gone to such lengths is because I truly value Schubelt’s unique technology — its ability to switch into a shoulder bag and automatically manage the straps. It may have become a bit bulkier, but I can always detach the add-ons if needed.
The fact that it has such irreplaceable advantages and a one-of-a-kind feature — that is why I chose this bag.
- それでもなお感じる長所
収納スペースが足りないなら、追加すればいい。思い切ってCargo Container社のSide Storage Bagを購入した。そしてマグネット式カラビナを買って、Schubeltの下部に取り付けた。この過程で約7万ウォンの出費が発生したし、おそらくSchubeltの開発者である小川コータ（Ogawa Kota）さんがこの光景を見たら激怒するかもしれない。でも、それでもSchubeltを使いたいという自分の気持ちをどうか分かってほしい。
心を落ち着かせてくれるグレーカラーに合わせて、色も揃えた。ちなみに、Schubelt左側のショルダーパッド部分には「プラポケ（プラポケ）」ポーチを取り付けて、自分なりのやり方で収納スペースを増やしている。
ここまでやる理由は、ショルダーバッグへの切り替えや、ストラップを自動で整理できるというSchubelt独自の技術を非常に高く評価しているからだ。多少ごちゃついた見た目にはなったけど、いざとなれば取り外せば済む話だ。
決して手放したくない魅力があること、そして唯一無二の特性を持っていること。それこそが、このバッグを選んだ理由だ。
